What We Do

KCDLP focuses on economic development that benefits KFN and its people. What does that look like? It all starts with the community.

One of our central objectives is to involve the community in decision-making and project planning. From there, we can funnel funding and support services where needed. We exist to serve the community of KFN first and foremost. Check the KCDLP Member Mobile App for feedback opportunities.

We work directly with business owners and hopeful business startups in KFN. Many businesses need help with funding, infrastructure and skills training, for which we offer a variety of workshops and consulting services. Then there’s a large segment of KFN interested in starting a business, who we work with to get things off the ground.
Another primary goal of KCDLP is to provide meaningful employment opportunities to the people of KFN. We invest in training and development programs to increase employability of citizens, while helping people find work.
With investment streaming into KFN and Burwash Landing, KCDLP creates partnerships in the community between business, contractors and citizens that allow for accessible pathways to participate in contract procurement. We help businesses procure those contracts while helping local citizens and businesses earn them and manage them.

Land and infrastructure projects are a primary driver for employment, security and economic opportunity for KFN residents. We work with KFN to build homes, develop lots, and contribute to major infrastructure projects.
